Instructional Designer 2

Duties/Responsibilities- Responsible for assisting university faculty in the application of complex instructional design principles and educational technology to develop courses. Provides expertise to facilitate instructional initiatives.
Applicants for this position should have knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, and superior web designer skills.  

1. Provides consultation and support for all university faculty and staff for Instructional Design.

2. Investigates, recommends, and participates in decision making for the purchase of new software and technology.

3. Develops and conducts training of faculty on new academic software and technology.

4. Troubleshoots on both the technical and operational side of technology-based programs.

5. Presents and represents University instruction designers at conferences.

6. Collaborates with and assists internal and system wide instructional designers. Assists in the design and implementation for the Center for Learning Effectiveness.

7. Participates and provides leadership in the instructional designer collaborative meetings for University of Houston System groups.

8. Assumes management responsibilities when required.

9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications- Requires a Master's degree. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.  WebCT experience is a plus as well as advanced web developing skills.
