INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER
Medidata Solutions’ Instructional Designer, designs, develops and implements training programs for instructor-led, phone/web-based eLearning and computer-based learning. Assists with education services project management and communications tasks and develops training according to design specifications. The Instructional Designer will be the primary resource for the design and development of end-user and internal staff courseware, instructor materials, custom courseware, and self-paced learning products that adhere to company quality standards.
Responsibilities:Create instructor led and eLearning training programs and classes independently and/or utilizing the Subject Matter Experts. Ensure courseware development activities are delivered with high quality and meet timelines.Review and update course content and curricula during each product/patch-release cycle.Work with eLearning, Computer Based Training (CBT), and other vendors on various course development and localization projects.
· Maintain a working knowledge of all Medidata systems to facilitate course development.Disseminate product-related and technical information from R&D/IT to Medidata University, and provide product feedback to R&D.For new and existing courses, assist with:Needs-analysisTimeline/resource estimationsTraining course design, production, quality control and implementation.Assist with the development and roll-out of knowledge transfer and train-the-trainer programs to Medidata University staff for product-related and additional courses.Deliver new courses to internal staff and clients.Conduct training as-needed, as a back-up trainer.Maintain a working comfort level in diverse roles (i.e. instructor, course development and customization,, etc.)
Skills/Qualifications:3-5 years of corporate training and curricula/courseware development experience. Software and/or clinical experience preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to understand products and write structured course content in a consistent fashion.Skilled in developing training in a variety of formats including web-based, eLearning, and instructor-led environments.Experience delivering instructor-led and web-based training to diverse audiences of various sizes.Demonstrated ability to work with employees throughout an organization, including programmers, marketing personnel, and management.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Self-motivating, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner.Experience supporting training teams and meeting project timelines.Bachelors Degree required.Ability to travel; approximately 10%.Ability to travel between the NY and NJ offices as needed.
