Integration Sales Support Engineer

POSITION SUMMARYUnder general supervision, this position primarily assists Sales in addition to Project Management and Technical Services with hardware, operating system, and/or networking technical issues relating to customer systems. Researches and develops new solutions involving new or existing hardware and software. Job scope includes design, pricing of hardware and software, configuration of company demo and client systems, installation and testing of client interfaces and setup of remote network connectivity.   TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists internal TriTech staff with technical issues as needed during the sales process.  Involves question/answer with sales, but sometimes involves meetings with prospective customers via conference call (or on occasion in person.).Assists Project Management and Technical Services staff with technical issues as needed before and after a sale.  Interfaces with prospective clients regarding technical issues during the sales cycle.Assists Technical Services with VPN communication problems.  Assists in customer upgrades or operating system/server application changes. Maintains an intimate knowledge of all operating systems, networking technologies, and server technologies used by TriTech and its customers.Configures and tests client systems including hardware, software and module setups.Configures client networking equipment, including routers and switches. Assists with client network design, configuration and troubleshooting, including Internet connectivity and security solutions for running Web-based applications on an as needed basis.Assists in identification and resolution of client issues relating to hardware and software configuration.Travels (up to 25%) domestically and internationally as required to complete project deliverables.Documents all software problems and technical procedures used by the department.Provides follow up to the customer to ensure that all issues, questions and needs are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction in a timely mannerResponds to customer emergency issues after hours via pager & phone when scheduled to be ‘on call’Responsible for the inventory, configuration and shipment of sales demo systemsOther assignments as may be required 

EXPERIENCEMinimum three years experience in the area of Intel based computer hardware, Microsoft based operating systems, and Microsoft based application softwareOne or more years with TCP/IP networking, router programming, remote access solutions.Good interpersonal skills, positive customer service skills, problem-solving skills and writing skills necessaryThe ability to complete required training related and technical education courses within specified time framesKnowledge of local and wide area network design and installationKnowledge of Web-based applications, including configuration of Internet Information Server (IIS)Proficiency using project management, word processing, spreadsheet and database software (Microsoft tools preferred)Excellent written and verbal business communications skillsCapable of working effectively at multiple levels within an organizationExcellent organizational skillsAbility to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to effectively manage client expectationsFamiliarity with public safety communications systems desiredEDUCATION

AA in Computer Science or Information Systems.  Equivalent experience may be considered as substitution.  Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification with emphasis in Windows 2000/2003 and SQL required.  Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MSCE) certification desired
