International Assignment Program- Business Development Manager: The principal focus of this position is the tax and legal analysis of the end-to-end administration of Microsoft’s International Assignment Program, MGR (Microsoft Global Resources) The position will have primary responsibility for tax planning and compliance matters. The tax consulting responsibilities includes international tax compliance and planning, tax vendor management, International Assignee tax planning oversight, New Country Due Diligence review and totalization oversight. The legal analysis responsibilities include review of any employee relations issues, secondment/leasing structures for the program, and documentation oversight. The position manages vendors and outsourced third party suppliers supporting Microsoft’s international assignment program with the primary objectives of regulatory compliance along with maximizing potential tax and cost efficiencies. Responsibilities include:· Primary responsibility for MGR tax compliance analysis and planning. This includes review of quarterly and annual calculations and filings, ensuring compliance with the economic process requirements, and coordination with other Microsoft groups including treasury, legal, accounting, venture accounting, and operations. Assist in the preparation and review of other international tax forms, statements and filings. Provide continuous support to IAC's on tax related issues, answering questions, resolving problems and settling issues.· Assist in international tax analysis and planning to minimize Microsoft's tax liability. Review international tax research and memorandums on current tax issues. Keep abreast of current international tax and regulatory issues as they pertain to international assignments. Develop a thorough working knowledge of the outside vendor’s tax compliance software system.· Responsible for new country due diligence (NCDD) process. Review proposed operating structure. Analyze legal, tax, VAT immigration and payroll issues. Review tax payment matrix, country summary. Recommend tax planning elements to implement. Hold Kick-off meetings for NCDD. Conference calls with HR/Finance/IAC/KPMG during New Country Operations· Drive large scale projects that are critical to the assignment program current and future structure. This will entail detailed project management, working across vendors and the MGR team as well as virtual HR/subsidiary contacts. Job_Requirements: Qualifications Include:· A minimum of 5 years of related job experience in International Tax, Finance or Compensation· Bachelors degree required· CPA or Law Degree Preferred· Candidate must have strong understanding of international tax practices impacting HR practices and compensation delivery.· Demonstrated customer service experience along with excellent multi-cultural inter-personal and written communication skills required.· Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills and an extreme attention to detail are critical elements to this position given the high level of corporate liabilities and cost exposure associated with international assignments and MGR.· Flexibility- ability to effectively manage change and deal with ambiguity· Excellent organization skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously· Proficient computer skills Microsoft offers an excellent benefits package to full-time employees including medical, dental, vacation, employee stock purchase plan, and 401k, plus some great extras including: our 24-hour nurse line, stay fit program, product discounts, and paid infant care leave.
