Candidates who do not currently have this clearance will not be considered.Responsibilities:The Application Developer/ Software Engineer is responsible for working on multi-disciplinary end-to-end solutions including the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance and operations of large-scale web-based systems. Strong experience in software engineering, architecture, design, and development is required. Knowledge of JDK 1.5 and web-based applications (e.g. Tomcat, Apache) is a plus. Additional responsibilities may include a combination of the following: " Conceptualizes, designs, constructs, tests, and implements portions of business and technical information technology solutions through application of appropriate software development life cycle methodology. " Interacts with the customer to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context and organizational strategic direction. " Defines scope, plans and deliverables for assigned projects. " Collects, identifies, defines, and organizes detailed user and information technology requirements. " Coordinates and collaborates with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations. " Confirms and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with the customer. " Participates in business and technical information technology solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions. " Understands and uses appropriate tools to analyze, identify and resolve business and/or technical problems. " Applies metrics to monitor performance and measure key project criteria. " Prepares system documentation. " Establishes and maintains security, integrity and business continuity controls and documents. " Participates in special studies, marketing efforts and formal proposals. " Stays current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.* This position is contingent on award of contract. It is not immediately billable, but is reflective of upcoming requirements within our organization.Required Skills: " Strong experience in software engineering, architecture, design, and development is required. " JAVA, J2EE " Candidates must have excellent problem-solving abilities, ability to provide alternative solutions, and strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
