J2EE Developer Oracle

J2EE Developer Position Description:

Working under the direction of the Applications Manager, the position is responsible for the design, development of applications that support the Department of Building Inspection. Position performs a variety of tasks including all phases of the software development lifecycle. 

 

Duration 4-6 months

 

Examples of Duties:

· Meet with staff to review and analyze user needs.

· Prepare and estimates solutions to staff requests and develop alternative solutions.

· Perform systems analysis and develop software solutions.

· Design and develops applications, user training seminars and demonstrations.

· Write both systems and user documentation.

· Develop test scenarios, test applications and other deliverables and interpret test data.

· Perform user training.

· Troubleshoot implemented applications and implement solutions.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.

 

Desirable Qualifications: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Five years of verifiable work experience developing web applications using J2EE, JSP, Java Server Faces and Active Server Faces. Experience with Oracle developer tools (for example, JDeveloper) highly preferred.At least five years experience using SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.  This experience must include relational database modeling and design.Experience with Oracle Portal development and/or Web Portal development is a plus.Experience in Oracle Forms is a plus.

Note:  Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency in Oracle.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.

· Customer service orientation.

· Proven ability to solve problems and remove obstacles.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Access).

· Experience in developing web-based applications.
