Client in Connecticut has new opening for a Senior Manager of Global ERP Infrastructure to support global JD Edwards ERP (version 8.0, 8.10 and (primary) 8.11) as well as associated sub-systems. (Other packages may be added to the portfolio over time.) The Global Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the following duties as they apply to the global ERP environment: Support all operational aspects of infrastructure for the relevant hardware and software platforms associated with the ERP applications; This includes (but is not limited to): AS/400, Wintel servers (typically HP or Dell), and WinteI PC's. While much of the hardware is currently operationally supported through outsourcing arrangements, a key responsibility will be the liaison to our outsourcing partners for infrastructure planning, investigations, upgrades, including disaster recovery. The successful candidate must have sufficient expertise and experience with all platforms stated above to design, implement and troubleshoot in these environments. For software, an understanding of the key operational layers in the infrastructure is required, especially strong knowledge of JD Edwards Enterprise One 8.10 or higher. This includes the operating system, database and both packaged software and custom developed applications and interfaces. Systems are accessed using both web server architectures as well as terminal server (Citrix) architectures. Responsibilities include managing currency of software (versions and patches), back-ups (completion and periodic verification), hardening and security compliance; Develop and execute performance modeling, testing and monitoring for the applications; possess an understanding of the performance characteristics of the applications, including the ability to develop efficient architectures and to monitor and diagnose performance issues and target problem areas using Mercury Interactive software products; the current standard for testing and monitoring performance. Hired candidate will manage the development, testing and implementation of infrastructure for all significant implementations, upgrades, patches with Enterprise One 8.11 and higher. Must understand the technical design and ensure proper standards are utilized, as well as developing and overseeing a methodology for periodic technical reviews throughout the implementation. This may include implementations of the core systems, upgrades, or implementations of complimentary subsystems or integrated "add-on" systems. Responsibilities will also include oversight of hardware and software procurement as well. Global Infrastructure Manager will conduct periodic assessments of infrastructure components, investigate cost savings opportunities and/or investigate enhancements to improve uptime in order to support a 24 X 7 operation. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology is highly desired along with 7 years experience in information technology with JD Edwards and Enterprise One 8.10 or higher, in an AS400 environment. Broad in-depth knowledge of JD Edwards implementation procedures is a hard requirement. Company offers competitive salary ranging from 120k+,  based on years and depth of JDE and overall IT experience. Relocation package based on individual basis. Travel estimated at 10%.
