Java/J2EE Software Engineer

The individual filling this position will be responsible for continued internal and client-driven enhancements to the company's Risk Management and Compliance solutions for the financial services and banking sector. Our suite of applications is built on a J2EE-based n-tiered application framework, and utilizes best-of-breed middleware and integration infrastructure. 

 

Technical Skills: 

 

* 3 - 7 years of non-academic software development experience in Java/J2EE (JSP/Struts/JavaScript/AJAX a strong plus) 

* Database development experience with Oracle RDBMS 

* Object Oriented Analysis and Design (e.g. UML) 

* Experience on Wintel and/or UNIX platforms 

 

Non-technical Skills: 

 

* Strong communication skills and problem solving abilities 

* Must be able to work in a group, collaborative environment or independently, as required 

 

Optional Skills (please indicate which of these you possess): 

 

* Experience with Hibernate or other O-R mapping frameworks 

* IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM WebSphere Portal 

* Financial services industry experience (investment management experience a strong plus) 

* XML/XSL 

* Oracle or DB2 DBA experience 

* IBM AIX system administration experience 

* Knowledge of workflow management systems (IBM MQ Workflow) and/or messaging/queuing systems (MQSeries) 

 

 

Education Requirements: 

 

* BS/BA degree or academic background in computer sciences, math or engineering preferred
