Lead DB2 Database Administrator

This is a full time permanent position with benefits primarily responsible for DB2 installation, configuration and administration in UNIX and Windows environment. Provide troubleshooting and resolution for customer problems including reporting and escalation of database related issues. Troubleshoot for locking, performance, memory usage and other database issues. Perform periodic reorganizations to optimize database performance. Set up and maintain security.  Sometime candidate will work directly with development teams to Design and Review SQL scripts and Database objects. Strong Database technical, development, optimizing and troubleshooting skills are required as well as ability to work with others and ability to follow standard procedures to perform task effectively.

Mandatory DBA Skills: 10+ years overall IT experience 5+ years of UDB experience in Unix  environment Installing and Configuring DB2 Well versed in database performance tuning, especially SQL tuning Very good analytical/design skills for quick Identification/resolution of production issues related to DB Admin. Experience in tuning and optimizing production databases for high availability and optimum performance Skilled in backups & recovery Development DBA experience Experience with 100GB+ Databases
