JOB PURPOSE To manage software development function and provide technical leadership
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage all responsibilities related to software development.
· Provide high quality software.
· Manage software related site incidents.
· Provide leadership in problem solving of current and new applications.
· Manage and develop engineering staff.
· Participate and demonstrate leadership in airline technical standards committees and steering standards towards SITA products.
· Provide statistical analysis on team efficiencies and software quality. Develop and execute improvement plans.
· Provide resource and project planning.
· Adhere to development lifecycle process.
· Conducts detailed analysis of all defined system specifications for changes in system requirements, customer requirements or equipment configurations and develop solutions.
· Ensure documents are developed for all procedures used throughout the computer program.
· Recommend product improvements including cost reduction thru technology.
· Provide estimates of man power requirements for maintenance and development tasks.
· Recognize potential opportunities and potential new SITA products/features to help generate revenue.

- Overall responsibility of managing and developing quality software for Common Use product
- Ability to make recommendations to management for technical solutions
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education and training
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent. MBA and/or PMP is a plus.
Knowledge and skills:
· Excellent analytical/problem solving and communications skills
· Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
· J2EE, Web Services, XML, SOA, Industry certification preferred.
· C#/C++, .Net, Java, Linux/Windows, SQL, OO Design, UML
· ASP.Net, IP Network communications, airline knowledge - a plus
· Ability to learn new technologies quickly
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
Experience:
· Minimum of 10 years of software development experience.
· With 2 years of architecture and design.
· And 2 years of Line management, team leadership or project management role.

· Periodic on call requirement
· Works extra hours and weekends as necessary to meet project time lines
· Attends training as needed to achieve job objectives
· Travel required
