Linux Administrator

One of our strategic clients is currently looking to fill the position of Linux Administrator.

 

Must be US Citizen

Must have Top secret Clearance

 

Position Description:

This position will require an individual to administer a medium sized Linux cluster running Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.

The cluster is based on IBM Blade technology, and includes a storage area network, tape backups system, and IBM Cluster Systems Management software.

 

The individual selected for this position is required to have solid foundational knowledge and experience in core Linux administration.

This includes experience with Linux networking, file systems, os configuration and tuning, and bash scripting. In addition to the core administration skills, it would be beneficial for the individual to have experience in LDAP administration for centralized user authentication, PERL Scripting, Tivoli Storage Management (for backups), and some knowledge of storage area networks.

The individual is expected to be self-motivated, and willing to learn the following technologies as part of the job: IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS), IBM Cluster Systems Management (CSM), additional Linux administration, software integration, and other new technologies as they are introduced into the cluster environment.

The individual is expected to be able to learn from manuals, tutorials, examples, and limited on the job training.
