Linux Systems Engineer

We are headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with additional locations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.We are looking for a highly skilled, energetic individual to join ATG’s operations team. The person in this role will be part of a group responsible for ATG’s growing OnDemand infrastructure as well as portions of our corporate infrastructure.  This position requires a broad technical background with expertise in several key areas. You should have significant experience managing complex technical projects. VoIP and SIP experience is a big plus.  Primary responsibilities: Assist in maintaining operations for ATG’s OnDemand infrastructure Assist in the creation and continual improvement of operational processes Contribute systems documentation and maintain operational run book Create tools and process automation Fault detection and resolution, configuration management, change management and performance management Administer systems, applications, backups, monitoring and recovery processes, patches, updates and server utilities 9am - 5:30pm. Participation in a moderate on call rotation. Qualifications: Strong skills in troubleshooting and monitoring system processes, memory, and load. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Professional written and verbal communication skills Experience managing complex technical projects 5+ years experience in a large production environment (200+ machines). Expert Linux skills (Red Hat/CentOS, Apache 2.0); strong Windows skills (Windows 2003, IIS 6.0, Active Directory) Excellent IP networking fundamentals Expertise in many of the following technologies and protocols: SIP, RTP, TCP, UDP, DNS, NTP, 802.11, OSPF, BGP, DHCP, LDAP, HTTP, ISDN, T1/E1, Ethernet, firewalls SIP experience a strong plus Cisco IOS experience a plus (Switch, PIX, VLAN) Scripting skills in Perl, Python, VB Educational requirements: Bachelor's (Computer Science or Analytical Discipline preferred) Vendor Certifications: Linux, MCSE (2000 or 2003), IIS, Apache, CCNA and/or CCNP, Security or Storage Must demonstrate interest in continuing education through work experience or personal effortsSound like a fit?
