Linux/UNIX Systems Architect - Solutions Design & Development
Senior Linux Systems Architect -
The Linux Systems Administrator provides operational support for servers running various versions of Linux/UNIX in an Internet-centric multi-customer production environment. This includes operating system and hardware system setup for new systems, server monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analysis, and automating routine tasks using shell scripts.
A demonstrated knowledge of Linux is essential as Linux is the predominant operating system in use. Solid understanding of the OSI network model and of common network devices is required. Hardware knowledge of Intel based systems, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects is a must.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience providing Unix system administration with strong experience working with internet based systems and applications. A demonstrated knowledge of Linux is essential, including Ubuntu/Debian Linux, RedHat/CentOS Linux. In-depth knowledge of Internet protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, FTP, NFS, iSCSI, DNS, NTP, and RTSP is required.
Experience with Internet technologies including Application Servers (Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, Weblogic, etc), MySQL, Postgres, Nagios, Sendmail, Qmail, and Postfix is highly desirable.
