MANAGER OF SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT/IT MANAGER/IT PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, is a not-for-profit healthcare center providing comprehensive acute care, post-acute rehabilitation, behavioral, and occupational health services to the people of Berks and adjoining counties. The 800-bed West Reading facility in scenic Berks County consists of a 22-building complex located on a 36-acre suburban campus.
Job Location: Reading, Pennsylvania
Job Description: Under the general direction of the Director of Systems Development, the Manager of Systems Development is responsible for the overall Systems Development Life Cycle and maintenance of numerous clinical software applications across the Hospital to include mainframe, mid-range, client server, and some web-based applications.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manages the implementation of numerous clinical software applications across the Hospital.
-Establishes effective communication with managers across technical and non-technical departments to identify key plan tasks and due dates.
-Participates in planning and managing project schedule and budget and ensuring that technical projects follow those plans.
-Delivers solutions that ensure compatibility and integration with Hospital strategies and business plans while establishing standards and guidelines for improving the applications development process.
-Provides technical direction to IMS Systems Development Staff and plays a major role in hiring and development of IMS Systems Development staff.
Position Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
-7-10 years of computer systems experience with 1-3 years of IT management experience is required. 5 years of experience in a related healthcare position is preferred.
-Clinical background is a plus as well as experience managing projects on Siemens Invision.
