Background Information:

Our client, a Fortune 500 multi-site corporation, is seeking a Manager for its IT Distributed System Software department.  The position will be based in their corporate headquarters office in Rochester, NY. 

 

This position is currently vacant and the hiring process will be moving quickly.

Position Description:

The Manager – Distributed Systems will act as a key member of the corporation’s executive team and will be responsible for managing the administration and support activities for the enterprise’s distributed Windows systems that include Microsoft Windows Servers, VMware, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Sharepoint, Citrix, IIS, plus support hundreds of additional business applications.  This environment consists of over 650 Windows based servers located in data centers in various division and general office locations.

 

The position is directly responsible for 10 employees mostly located in Rochester, NY.  The leadership of this team is expected beyond just the technical management, but includes employee development, mentoring and training.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS Degree in a related field plus a minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience in IT Management.  Prior experience working within large Windows-based environments strongly preferred.  Leadership abilities, project management skills, client delivery experience, and strong budget management skills will be key to long term success in this role.
