Manager Marketing and Communications

Basic Purpose

Manages the development and implementation of the company’s marketing communications programs. Works with marketing and sales departments to plan and create strategies, tactics, activities, and materials for the purpose of conveying the most positive marketing message to target markets. Oversees the logistics of disseminating marketing materials. Manages the activities of marketing communications specialists, and may coordinate outsourced marketing activities. Reports to the Director of Marketing or to the Marketing Senior Manager. Requires a minimum of five years of marketing communications experience.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

§ Manages the development and implementation of the  company’s marketing communications programs.
 

§ Develops and executes plans for the design, writing and production of marketing communications materials, including corporate literature, product/services brochures, case histories, etc.
 

§ Oversees the dissemination of marketing materials.
 

§ Works with sales and marketing departments to plan and create strategies, tactics, activities and materials for the purpose of conveying the most positive marketing message to target markets.
 

§ Manages activities of marketing communications specialist(s).
 

§ Evaluates progress and results regarding unit’s activities and goal attainment.
 

§ Involved in creative and strategy sessions with outside agencies to implement advertising, direct mail and other campaigns in print.
 

§ If any marketing activities are outsourced, plans, coordinates and implements projects in conjunction with the company’s strategic objectives and activities.
 

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's degree in business, English or marketing. Advanced degree in business or marketing desirable. Typically requires seven to 5 years of marketing communications experience.
 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Excellent time management, communications, writing, decision making, presentation, human relations and organizational skills. Proficient PC skills.
 

Equipment and Applications

PC and various software applications.
 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office environment. High stress may occur. No special physical demands required.
 

Reporting Structure

This position reports to Director of Marketing or Marketing Senior Manager.
