Manager, Software Development

Position Purpose:

The Manager, Software Development is responsible for leading others and managing complex development projects.  The individual will drive their team to complete projects in a timely fashion with the highest quality, while focusing on people and process management.

 

Responsibilities:

· Oversee Software Development activities and Developers throughout the product lifecycle

· Provide technical leadership in the areas of software design and architecture

· Interact with Product Management, QA, Professional Services, and Customers

· Review and monitor progress of Software, QA and implementation engineers

· Provide schedule estimates and prepare project plans

· Manage end-to-end software development lifecycle establishing and monitoring critical processes related to software development

· Establish and ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and quality of the products

· Provide progress and status reports to management

 

Qualifications: BS (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field5+ years of practical Software Development experienceExperience with breadth of software technologies, preferably with .NET and Microsoft technologiesClear understanding and adherence to software development processesStrong understanding of software design paradigms and techniquesDemonstrated ability to motivate team membersSkilled at mentoring subordinatesStrong project management skillsDemonstrated ability to drive issues to resolutionProven ability to focus a teamProven software development skillsCapable of contributing at the individual level when necessaryWell-versed in all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle and be able to articulate the value of any new process/procedure being proposedExcellent communication skills and ability to work with both on-shore and off-shore employees Highly refined organizational and time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and drive toward multiple deadlines
