Manager, Technical Data Warehouse
The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Manager, Data Warehouse Technical for our TSG – Charlotte Corporate Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary:
This position will provide Data Warehouse Technical Management and Solutions Architecture. The primary focus of this role will include the ongoing and future development of the CVC Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and ongoing initiatives. This role will provide professional leadership in Technical Solutions Management and Architecture in design, development, and implementation of large scale multi-terabyte Data Warehousing and Client-Server applications spanning Business, Financial, and other related impact areas of the company. This role will works closely with DBA, QA, BI, and other ETL groups.
Essential Job Functions:
•Provides Technical Management and Solutions Architecture for CVC Data Warehouse.
•Oversees other architects/designers whom are responsible for development, integration, administration, and evolution of the data warehouse.
•Enable visions including infrastructure flow design, code migration, hardware configuration, and logical / physical models.
•Helps develop strategic data warehousing/IT direction and ensures the appropriate level of staffing is obtained
•Leads technical discussions on overall data warehousing implementations
•Understand the fundamental concepts and architectural principles of data warehousing
•Evaluates current/future of various data warehousing tools and components
•Estimates system capacity to meet near- and long-term processing requirements
•Defines and documents the technical architecture of the data warehouse
•Identify current and emerging technologies that define Solutions Architecture ‘Best Practice’.
•Evaluate various tools and technologies as applied to the company.
•Participate in the complete implementation, process, and strategies for the development of core solutions and guiding principles. Define Plan, and implementation of overall Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and ETL efforts.
•Understand and document high-level data warehousing requirements as related to the company.
•Responsible for multiple projects or large complex projects with cross functional teams and business process
•Apply broad in depth business and technical knowledge to establish technical direction and priorities
•Resolve and work on issues across multiple functional areas
•Effectively monitor and take action to ensure coordination and effectiveness of all components and activities and decide on issues requiring escalation
•Incumbents understand the system flow for a project throughout an entire functional area (e.g. Billing, Customer Care) not just a subsystem area

Required Qualifications:
•10-12 years - Overall IT Experience
•8-10 years hands-on technical experience in multi terabyte Data Warehouse environments.
•5-8 years Intermediate to Advanced ETL Applications - Informatica, Ab Inito, DataStage, Other
•3-5 years Technical Management experience with teams from 5 to 10+ .
•3-5 years Intermediate to Advanced Programming - UNIX, Perl, Shell, C
•Ability to design Real-Time and/or SOA solutions effectively in Teradata, Netezza,Oracle 10g, UDB/DB2, AIX, UNIX, Shell or Perl.
•Strong understanding of Technical Architecture, Framework, System Processing, Server Availability, Scalability, and ETL implementations as related to Data Warehouse solutions.
•Solid understanding of database administration, tuning, and space management. ETL tools for large data volumes such as Informatica, Ab Initio, Trillium, Unix scheduling tools, such as AUTOSY
•Must posses high level skills with tools and products used in data mart development, such as Oracle, DB2 UDB, SQL Server or Teradata, Relational databases, SQL, UNIX, NT, BI tools such as Cognos, SAS 9i, Hyperion Essbase, Busines Objects and/or Microstrategy
•Full software development life cycle experience and understanding.
•Solid understanding of data architecture and modeling techniques.
•Strong understanding of Release Management process and required applications
(CVS, RCS, SCCS, Visual Source Safe, others…)
•Solid understanding MS Office Suite (Visio, MS Project, others...)
•Able to empower and motivate others in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to balance theory and practical reality
•Strong Communication (verbal, written)
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
