QA TESTERBALTIMORE, MDCONTRACT TO HIRE JOB SUMMARY QA analyst to test Data Warehouse project. Candidate must be proficient in writing PL/SQL and SQL scripts as testing involves complex backend testing. Primary responsibilities include the development and execution of manual, as well as automated test script; perform backend validation of test results and reporting and tracking issues to closure. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java or Visual Basic is a plus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List tasks critical to completion of daily workload)  · Prepare test cases by understanding the business requirements, Data Mapping documents and technical specifications. · Understand Data Models, Data Schema, ETL and Write stored procedures, SQL queries to perform back-end data warehousing testing, · Write and implement manual automated test scripts for our web based decision support system – Mercury Automated Tools.· Diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving issues. · Coordinate with development team in system integration test and services level unit testing. · Work closely with business analyst and development group during the requirement phase and design phase to find out functional incompatibilities and software issues early in the QA process. · Work closely with the development teams to replicate end user issues. · Support Infrastructure Engineers, Network Engineers, Developers in creating testing checklists and coordinating testing for Projects, Changes, and Emergencies · Communicate discrepancies determined in testing to impacted areas (development, network, infrastructure) and monitor resolution. · Facilitate UAT for end users and provide all necessary training.  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree Field(s) of study: Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Management Industry: Quality Assurance Testing Job Specific: 3+ years of in-depth experience testing back-end data warehousing using PL/SQL, 3+ years of experience of performing manual and automated test. 3+ years in the financial industry or equivalent knowledge Through understanding of PL/SQL, SQL and Java /VB Experience in testing of Data warehouse applications in UNIX environment. Experience in ETL tools especially Ab Initio, EaglePace would be a plus.
