Manufacturing Supplier Quality Engineer
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Manufacturing Department at our Foster City headquarter. This position reports to Director, Manufacturing Quality.
Responsibilities:
Develops, evaluates, revises, and applies technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products. Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations. Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and bulk raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary. Ensures that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards, such as ANSI and IPC regulations. Evaluates and analyzes the efforts in organizing, documenting, and interpreting inspection support documents and records. Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services. Qualifies suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness. Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops QA Plans for new products and provides DFM and DFQ input at preproduction design reviews. Reviews 6 Sigma, Lean, JIT, Kanban, SPC, TQM, and other classic quality programs that may be used internally at CM, PCBA, plastic, sheet metal, power supply, drive, cable, packaging, furniture, media pack, and other sub-assembly and component suppliers. Performs first article, prototype, and out-of-box quality audits at local and remote suppliers and maintains quality metrics based on results to continuously measure supplier performance and qualification status.Prepares yield and defect pareto charts from factory and RMA data for periodic review by OEM and upper management and for weekly continuous improvement process meetings with contract manufacturers.Analyzes and repairs DOA field returns and provides problem resolution reports to affected customers.
Requirements:
· B.A. degree or equivalent
· 5-7 years experience in the manufacturing environment
· Strong project management, analytical, and customer service skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with customers and employees effectively
· Independent, team player, and detail-oriented
· Adaptable to flexible, comfortable in a multi-task environment
