Market Manager
Market Managers execute Varolii's strategic marketing plan by creating programs and deliverables to penetrate key markets, generate sales leads, and close sales. Market Managers are key members of the Marketing team, and work closely with Direct Sales, Indirect Sales, Marketing Communications and Product Marketing. Managers uses a diverse set of analytic and creative skills to support a wide variety of marketing and company initiatives.Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing
· Develop compelling offers for the target markets to drive lead generation
· Work closely with marketing communications and product marketing in creating positioning, key messaging, value statements and identifying key drivers for new products, features and functionality
· Support Marketing Communications’ efforts in managing analyst and media relationships
Market Analysis
· Support efforts to analyze, segment, prioritize and target key markets
· Provide expertise to penetrate target markets through market analysis, messaging and positioning, and identify key differentiators and purchase drivers
· Conduct ad hoc market and competitive research
Application “Packaging”
· Identify key market and application targets; create product / application offers with supporting internal and prospecting documentation and tools
· Create application and product offers for target markets, companies and decision makers
· Create collateral, direct marketing content, white papers and other deliverables in conjunction with Product Marketing and Marketing Communications to communicate Varolii’s market position and demonstrate PAR3’s value proposition
Sales Tools and Sales Support
· Initiate, develop and support new sales tools, ROI models, and presentations for the sales force
· Support launch of new products, features and functionality
· Provide tactical sales support as needed to support Direct and Indirect Sales’ efforts to sell into target markets
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strategic thinking abilities; proven ability to initiate and recommend marketing strategies
· Solid analytic and quantitative skills, including the ability to build and communicate ROI models
· Excellent communications and presentation skills:
§ Strong writing ability, including the ability to effectively write market analyses, product and application collateral, RFP responses, product descriptions and direct marketing copy
§ Ability to build and deliver effective PowerPoint presentations
· Understand and can apply principles of market segmentation, market management, brand management, marketing communications and database marketing
· Ability to work with senior management and cross-functional teams to develop, manage and communicate marketing programs.
· Ability to plan, organize and establish priorities to achieve results.
· Comfort with technology, including at least basic knowledge of database systems, contact center systems, and software development.
· Sharp attention to detail.
· “Get things done” mentality; ability to take initiative and enjoy working in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
· Effectively engage in numerous initiatives simultaneously; must work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Effectively operate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Education/Experience:
· BA/BS degree with a minimum of five years marketing experience, MBA preferred
· Experience in Telecommunications, Utilities, Airlines, or other consumer service businesses, either working in the industries or serving the industries, preferred.
· Background in technology, software or contact center industry a plus.
· Ideal candidate has previous work experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing programs, product management, product marketing, market research, database marketing, brand management, and market management. Sales experience also a plus.
