The company is best known for its strong growth and leadership in digital distribution of online casual games. Big Fish Games has several lines of business including distribution of downloadable casual games, ad supported free online web browser games, game development studios, e-greetings, and most recently a social networking site for casual game players for share opinions, invite friends, and earn cash for games their friends buy.

 

Help us grow the Research team! Big Fish Games is looking for a ‘quant’ researcher to better understand the casual game market to expand our game club members. As our new Marketing Researcher you’ll drive our market segmentation and quantitative research including weekly survey launches and web metric analytics. In this role you will lead efforts to collect and improve tracking of our marketing campaigns through market research focus group testing, web metrics tracking and optimization, and satisfaction surveys throughout product development. Improve our global understanding of casual gamers and game club subscribers and you will be a success.

 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:Maintain and optimize our existing survey processes. Expand processes to global and localized surveys in certain markets.Collaborate with IT and the data warehouse teams to develop web metrics tracking conversion based on product and audience segmentation.Develop benchmarks on attitudinal measures for products in coordination with Program Management.Manage and develop focus group research events and involve product teams in these events to evangelize user-centered design.Work with usability, marketing, and database teams to develop a global user research databank (separate from beta testers) in order to collect feedback on marketing campaigns prior to launch.Work closely with external partners, and internal departments, including Development, IT, Marketing, Design, and Customer Support teams.Track gaming industry trends and competitive standard practices.

 

Skills, attributes and experience required:2-4 years of marketing experience (direct preferred)Must have product management and marketing skills in a consumer-focused environment including market research, focus group moderating, and site behavior statisticsExperience implementing and analyzing multivariate and other advanced online testing techniquesKnowledge of industry standards for e-commerce and multi-player gamingStrong analytical and critical thinking skills and proven disciplined planning skillsAptitude for technology combined with solid business and marketing practicesAbility to turn data/analysis into business-impacting actions, utilizing key data and analysis applicationsBA/BS required, MBA preferred
