.NET / C# Software Engineer

Description:

The software engineer is responsible for all activities necessary for the development and support of quality application code.  This requires active participation throughout the development lifecycle, which includes analysis, design, code, test and maintenance.  Participation in these phases includes reviews, inspections and development of the associated documentation.


· Analysis– participate in analysis activities using appropriate methodologies and techniques.

· Design– participate in design activities using appropriate methodologies and techniques.

· Code– implement quality application code and perform unit testing.

· Test– perform development-level integration testing and fix errors.

· Support– mentor, participate in reviews and inspections, support project meetings, provide technical guidance, investigate source of problem, correct errors, re-test to insure resolution, support those that receive software deliverables.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in computer science, information systems or related field, plus professional experience developing software applications (typically 3 or more years), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Below is a list of specific software development skills for the position.  Each of the items listed are not a required competency for the position since the skill mix required by people in the same position may vary depending on project needs.  The years of experience are meant to imply a certain level of knowledge and skill and are therefore, only a guideline.

 

· 3+ years of solid C# experience.

· 3+ years of ASP.NET (.NET Framework, Ajax) experience.

· Strong knowledge using software development tools such as Visual Web Developer, automated test tools and software revision control tools.

· 2+ years of experience developing with SQL Server (including stored procedures).

· Strong knowledge of Web based development technologies (e.g. XML, SSL, XSLT, CSS, HTML, XHTML).

· Strong knowledge of Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), including HTTP and TCP/IP & UDP.

· Strong technical knowledge using IIS, Windows Server, and other Web service tools.

· Good knowledge of n-tier/three-tier, Business Objects, Design Patterns, and general OOP.

· Experience developing Web applications for Web sites that require heavy loads. Using coding practices that ensure performance,  and scalability.
