.Net Lead/Project Manager
Richard Fleischman & Associates, a large consulting firm based in NYC has an internal need for an experienced Project Manager/.Net Lead. This is a full time permanent position.
Responsibilities include:Smart, talented, innovative, and experienced Project Manager in the Information Systems & Technology Department needed for a financial institution.
This employee, as part of a dynamic department, will manage technology-related projects both small and large, with varying degrees of complexity and needs for integration into existing systems.
Examples include but are not limited to enterprise application upgrades, software development, interface development, digitization, web application development, and database integration. The employee must have the knowledge and communication skills to be able to work effectively with multiple levels and degrees of technical expertise throughout the organization.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work in collaboration with staff to initiate projects, create comprehensive project plans, and contribute to the management of projects from beginning to completion.
- Research, recommend, establish, and maintain best practices in project management, as a consultative service to other departments as requested, including standards for project documentation.
- Evaluate and define appropriate **ownership** responsibilities for projects.
- Evaluate and define scope of proposed and ongoing projects.
- Set project objectives, priorities, and tasks.
- Schedule project events and allocate project resources.
- Assess and evaluate benefits and risks of proposed projects; track both throughout a project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress; re-evaluate project status on a regular basis; provide project update reports in written and verbal form.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze project budgets; work diligently to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Evaluate, recommend, and schedule external project resources as needed.
- Share project management knowledge and expertise through formal (scheduled training sessions) and informal (ad hoc) meetings with colleagues
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Five or more years experience in project management within an information technology setting.
- Experience managing projects in a Microsoft .Net environment
- Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies and lifecycles
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server
- Up-to-date knowledge of information systems and technologies, particularly in a Windows environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing technology-related projects, including in-house application development and third-party software installation.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment, including ability to share knowledge effectively with colleagues.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, flexible mindset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge and Education:
** Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
** Knowledge/expertise using MS-Project or similar project-management software package(s) required.
** Experience using an agile or extreme software development model considered a plus.
** PMI certification considered a plus.
Technical Requirement(s):
Familiar with the following web Technologies: ASP.NET (1.1 & 2.0), XML/XSL, HTML, VB Script, Java
Script.Prior experience working with Investment Management and market data applications such as
Factset, Bloomberg, Reuters, Charles River, Security APL, etc. Web Servers: IIS Databases: SQL Server (2000/2005), ( Oracle a plus), MS Access. Development Tools: Microsoft Visual Studio.NET
