Network Content Manager

COXnet is an Atlanta-based organization which provides support, services and strategy for Cox Newspapers and its Web sites, seeks a motivated, experienced professional for the position of network content manager to take charge of new content initiatives in coordination with all Cox newspaper sites.

The Network Content Manager will coordinate the creation and production of content packages in several different areas including network Web channels as sports, health, national politics and others. The successful applicant will be in position to shape any new content initiatives while working with COXnet teams and senior producers and others at Cox Newspapers' network of sites. These content initiatives go well beyond traditional media into new forms of storytelling and interactives that keep users on our sites. All candidates should be comfortable developing requirements and workflows for new projects.

We are looking for a leader who is innovative, a creative problem solver with an eye for detail and accuracy. They should possess exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task while still meeting deadlines; ability to adapt and be flexible to changing demands and dealing with ambiguity. Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including the ability to influence others and communicate issues effectively in small and large groups, at all levels of the organization. Self-motivated with proven ability to work with multiple groups, including business owners, product managers, creative designers, and developers within the Cox organization.

 

SKILLS

- 5+ years experience in an online news environment, preferably with management experience

- Strong knowledge of HTML, XHTML/CSS and related Web applications

- Familiarity with Flash, java script, AJAX, audio/video and emerging technologies a plus

- Strong news judgment, but for an online audience

- Understanding of Web usability, search engine optimization

- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

- Bachelors Degree. Journalism Degree a plus, but not required.
