Akamai - Powering a Better Internet. Responsibilities:  Responsible for performing troubleshooting on the Akamai deployed network. Working with the rest of the Network Operations team and development groups, the Network Operations Technician monitors and responds to software, network, and hardware fault conditions. Responsibilities include: * Monitor deployed production network servers * Serve as primary initial responder within the Network Operations Center in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving network problems * Perform system administration for the Akamai deployed network * Assist Engineer with software installations to the network. * Respond to e-mail from network partners, ISPs, and internal Akamai groups * Document all network-related activities in Siebel ticketing system Qualifications:  * Solid understanding of UNIX-based and Windows operating systems, and of fundamental networking and Internet principles. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Excellent reliability and dependability * Attention to detail and accuracy * 2-4 years experience in system administration, network operations, or other related field. * B.S.
