OLAP Developer/Information Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
Turbine is looking for an experienced OLAP Developer to join our data warehouse team. This position will have primary responsibility for developing dimensional cubes to meet the needs of the warehouse customers. Working closely with users, this position will play a key role in turning Turbine’s business data into information to be used by Turbine’s management to make important business decisions.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a professional work-environment and be capable of working closely with employees, peers and managers in high pressure situations. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to discuss technical issues with both engineers and non-technical people such as accountants, business analysts, marketing, and customer service representatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise and passion in the field of video games and will possess an understanding of the principles of software architecture and the best practices of software engineering processes.

Essential Functions:
· Participate in the development of Turbine’s management information systems infrastructure (including hardware, database development, data processing applications, and report presentation technologies).
· Liaison with other Turbine departments to qualify functional requirements, integrate data systems, and build technical specifications for the team.
· Develop and document complex solution requirements and provide consultation on the implementation of BI solutions
· Ensure development and production database environments are in sync; define db scripts versioning system to keep track of database versions for all environments
· Design and automate backup, archival, data warehouse, and standard database maintenance tasks
· Provide deep technical leadership on reporting and analytical (OLAP) tools
· Help establish best practices and standard operating procedures for the BI team
· Utilize strong analytical skills to provide real solutions for both technical and business related issues associated with the implementation of business intelligence applications
· Perform query performance analysis and optimization
· Design and implement changes to further optimize the nightly ETL process
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Requirements & Qualifications:
· A BS Degree in a computer or business related field or equivalent work experience.
· Experience in dimensional cube processing, MSAS, OLAP, and SQL database design
· Specialized experiences in advanced T-SQL queries coding, tuning, debugging of (DTS, stored procedures, functions, and packages), reporting services, and analysis services
· Strong experience with SQL 2005 in a production SAN environment containing high transaction rates, large databases, and very large OLAP cubes
· Expertise with tuning hardware/SQL 2005/Windows for optimal performance
· Project management skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills and detail oriented with a self-starting attitude
· ETL architecture design experience a plus
· Experience with Microsoft PerformancePoint a plus.
