On-Demand Project Manager

The On-Demand Project Manager is responsible for assisting our customers with the design and deployment of their Ariba Procure to Pay, Invoicing Pro or Travel and Expense Solutions. As functional experts, they will help lead the customer in the design, build, testing and deployment of their software solution and associated business processes while providing project planning and management services.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Practice Development
o Deployment responsibilities include assisting customers throughout the various phases of Ariba’s solution deployment.
o On-Demand Project Managers will assist with all aspects of a deployment including (but not limited to): process build and documentation and business rule configuration, user interface configuration, external system integration (if required), user and supplier set-up and project management.
o On-Demand Project Managers will act as a liaison between the customer and various groups within Ariba such as Technical Support, Sales, Engineering, and Product Management.
o On-Demand Project Managers could be responsible for overseeing multiple solution deployments and act as the single point of contact for the customer champion.
o All other duties assigned.

• Customer Focus
o The On-Demand Project Manager is responsible for the customer satisfaction during the successful deployment of solutions.
o Establishes credibility as a conduit for solutions expertise with customers and is seen as an expert by customers (e.g., positive customer feedback).
o The On-Demand Project Manager will act as a liaison between the customer and various groups within Ariba such as Technical Support, Sales, Engineering, and Product Management.
• Ariba Solution Expertise
o Is conversant in features, functionality and applicability of the entire Spend Management suite but possess expert knowledge in Procure to Pay, Invoicing and T&E.
o Builds solution, customer, and industry knowledge by leveraging the appropriate resources (internally at Ariba and externally at the client).
• People Development
o Owns developing and maintaining team operating principles and team templates and work instructions.
o Owns the informal advancement of team members and team success
o Owns providing feedback to other project managers that work under their customer umbrella
o Owns developing and delivering team trainings.
o Acts as a mentor and leader to all team members on multiple solution education.
• Teamwork
o Manages internal and external resources to optimize client impact.
o Executes with minimal guidance and shows strong initiative.
o Maintains regular communication with team members (e.g., face-to-face, via voicemails, emails) especially across multiple solution deployments so everyone understands status of project.
o Proactively collaborates with manager and teammates to anticipate and respond to issues that could impact solution deployment (e.g., change in scope).
o Displays proactive communication (i.e., face-to-face meetings and phone calls are more frequent than emails).

Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of spend management experience a plus
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong customer management and leadership skills
• Advanced Microsoft office skills
• Technical understanding and capabilities
• Strong analytical and organizational talent
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• ERP experience (Oracle / PeopleSoft, SAP) and / or Ariba solution experience
• Solution Demo Training and Certification
• Project Management Training and PMI certification
• Customer Leadership Training

Basic Minimum Qualifications
• BA or BS degree in a related field
• 5+ years of project management and software implementation experience
• Functional / business process experience in two or more of the following areas is required: Procurement, Invoicing, Analysis and Payment.
• Some travel required possibly up to 20%
