We are looking for a Senior Developer to work on a team building a major customer-facing web application for Sears Holdings Corporations. As a member of the team, you will have the chance to work on unique and innovative solutions on a multi-tiered JBOSSTomcatMySQL environment. This position is responsible for working on the development and design, using new technology frameworks, and concepts to quickly deliver functionality for our customers. Some of the open-source frameworks and technologies utilized in these initiatives include Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat, MySQL, Struts 2.0, Spring, Hibernate, SiteMesh and Alfresco. The developer will educate and mentor other associates in complex technical solutions to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working on agile teams developing software in an collaborative and iterative manner.Qualifications· Extensive experience developing multi-tiered web applications on open source platforms utilizing Java/J2EE, XML, SQL, AJAX, REST, SOAP, ESB, AOP, SOA, JavaScript, HTML and other related technologies and concepts · Extensive experience working with open source frameworks and technologies such as JBOSS, Tomcat, MySQL, Struts 2.0, Spring, Hibernate, SiteMesh, Alfresco, GWT, Maven, Mule, Linux, JUnit, Selenium, etc. · Experience with Agile Development (SCRUM / Extreme Programming) practices, such as Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Iterative Development, and Pair Programming · Ontology and Semantic Web technology experience, such as RDF, OWL, SPARQL, and Jena/SDB, is a big plus · Rules / Recommendation / Personalization engine experience is a plus · Ruby/Rails or Groovy/Grails experience is a plus · Leader or contributor in open-source Java software is a big plus Candidate Should Also Possess:· Excellent communication skills · Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environments · Passion for the customer and technology · Ability to adapt to new development processes and changing business requirements · Bachelor s degree preferably in computer science or equivalent experienceSears is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
