Oracle Applications Business Process Analyst
SUMMARY:
Redflex Traffic Systems, Inc, the leader in digital traffic photo enforcement technologies, is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our highly motivated and innovative Information Technology department in Scottsdale, AZ. Under independent direction, the Oracle Applications Business Process Analyst (OABPA) develops and implements integrated solutions to resolve highly complex technical and business issues and plays a major role in the implementation and ongoing support of major systems. The OABPA participates in re-platforming and re-engineering efforts essential to ongoing system support, staying abreast of business and technological changes. The OABPA analyzes current systems considering system capacity, limitations, operation time and desired results. The OABPA documents requirements due to re-engineering of applications, translates into functional and/or technical specifications, writes and executes test cases and plans, oversees the testing process, and maintains vendor relationships for implementation and issue resolution when necessary. The OABPA is completely responsible for application management projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to Director of Technology
2. Independently interacts regularly with management to discuss ongoing system support issues and projects relatively to business areas. Gathers and analyzes business requirements and interpret business needs and issues essential to support systems and implement solutions to technical and/or business issues of varying complexity. Acts as primary analyst on multiple, complex projects concurrently.
3. Uses advanced verbal and written communication skills and mastery of all aspects of the System Development Methodology (SDM) and expert business process knowledge to make technical and non-technical material understandable to business leaders.
4. Develops and maintains application management documentation including formal proposals, feasibility studies, use cases, system test cases, design documents, and testing plans according to standard system development lifecycle methodologies.
5. Promotes best practices within Application Management for documentation necessary to support applications. Makes frequent presentations to management and other personnel. Plans and conducts meetings including, but not limited to: application development sessions, fit-gap analysis sessions, design reviews, documentation review meetings, etc. Facilitates the solution selection and decision making process and provides the necessary information to enable the business to make an informed decision.
6. Interfaces with all facets of the technology organization including Programmers, Engineers, managers, etc. to develop multiple solutions to business problems of varied complexity. Presents evaluation of alternatives and recommendations to the business for the purpose of determining and agreeing upon the best resolution. Uses negotiation skills to influence project team and gain consensus on the selection of the most viable solution.
7. Directly responsible for the development of project plans to identify tasks necessary to solve a business problem.
8. Tracks progress and notifies management of issues that require escalation. Assumes responsibility for the resolution of system and process issues and works with the appropriate technical and subject matter experts to provide a solution.
9. Develops and maintains Applications Management documentation including Service Level Agreements, turnover agreements (POA) and compliance documentation. Works with the Disaster Recovery team for DR requirements and testing. In addition, works with Internal and External audit groups to complete activities required to maintain SOX and SAS 70 compliance for assigned systems.
10. Must be able to lead small and large projects related to specific deliverables. This may include project definition and investigation; coordination of vendor selection RFP and procurement processes; requirements gathering; testing; and configuration.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:Bachelors degree7-10 years supporting Oracle Financials/ProcurementWork experience with Oracle FinancialsBasic understanding of the Oracle Financials System and its functionality within the business arenaComprehension of business functions and their relationship within the Oracle Financials systemTechnical or troubleshooting experience within the Oracle Financials systemPrior experience executing project discovery and investigation, including development of a Cost-Benefit Analysis for a project of moderate sizeAbility to translate complex business requirements into detailed functional and/or technical specificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Prior experience in accounting/finance preferredWorking knowledge of other finance systems preferredExperience with databases (SQL Server, Oracle, & Essbase) preferred7-10 years supporting COTS applications preferredExposure to or knowledge of programming languagesProficiency in SQL
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Visio
