Oracle Clinical Programmer
TerpSys supports Bioinformatics and Clinical Trials initiatives sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. We are seeking enthusiastic, results-focused Oracle Clinical professionals to join our expanding team in the Washington, DC area.
Our team members work directly with the National Cancer Institute and cancer centers throughout the country to facilitate the adoption of data standards, processes, and technologies, including Oracle Clinical 4.5.2, RDC, and Onsite. This career opportunity integrates all aspects of clinical trials database design and support, including study building, procedure programming, quality control, training, and application support; it also involves technical consultations with systems and DBA staff in regard to configuration management, patch implementation, system security and validation.
Responsibilities:
· Work directly with study teams at cancer centers to facilitate the adoption of Oracle Clinical through the building of pilot studies, support of active studies, and ongoing technical consultations, training, and user support.
· Map data elements in compliance with data standards; design electronic case report forms (eCRFs); lay out data entry screens; develop and implement validation and derivation procedures; set up lab subsystems; generate views; and develop custom reports.
· Conduct pre-activation study testing and peer reviews to assure quality.
· Provide ongoing study maintenance and application support to all levels of Oracle Clinical, Remote Data Capture (RDC), and RDC Onsite users.
· Troubleshoot issues with users, developers, systems, and DBA teams; identify potential bugs and system enhancements; investigate patches and participate in configuration management decisions and authorized change implementations.
· Document and improve business processes and practices to strengthen team effectiveness & efficiency, system security, quality, and customer service.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related area
· Minimum of five years relevant experience, including study building, procedure development, technical support, and/or training experience
· Demonstrated experience working with Oracle Clinical and RDC – or other clinical trials management system (such as ClinTrials, Phase Forward, Medidata Rave, etc.) - and related reporting software in a data management environment
· Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL
· Familiarity with clinical research practices, medical terminology, statistical analysis, Oracle Forms and Oracle databases
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated commitment to providing a superior customer service experience
