Oracle DBA

Location: VA 22102 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project, Employee Expected Duration: 5+ to 7 Years Our client, a leading information services provider based in Tyson's Corner, Virginia is looking for a talented Oracle DBA for a long term position within their firm.  Candidate must be a US Citizen.Database Administrator (DBA) The core responsibility of the Database Administrator position is to support the IT organization in all aspects of database development and maintenance while ensuring maximum performance and scalability. The Database Administrator is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of all ***** databases including, but not limited to, all core business applications, Intranet, Extranet and Internet databases as well as potential third party contract application databases. The Database Administrator is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and will work closely with the Information Security Officer to identify and implement data security best practices both internally and externally. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in MIS, Comp. Sci. or related field or equivalent technical/vocational certification or experience. 4 to 6 years industry experience as a Database Administrator and/or Analyst or similar function.5 years cumulative database administration work on both Oracle 8i,9i & 10g & MS SQL 2000 & 2005 Databases.Experience with SSIS.Strong understanding of networking (particularly TCP/IP), security, web servers.MS SQL Database design, Transact-SQL programming, knowledge of ADO.NETDevelopment tools including: Visual Studio .NET, MS Visio, MS SourceSafe.Experience developing large-scale database driven applications.Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle standards.Understanding of Relational and Dimensional database design techniques.Experience maintaining an Enterprise Data Warehouse.Willing to be on a 24 hour on call rotation, willing to travel as needed
