Oracle DBA (entry level)

Responsibilities: The candidate filling this position will perform monitoring, tuning, and maintenance of Oracle databases on the Solaris operating systems.  The candidate will work closely with other Database Administrators and Application Analysts to perform database upgrades, backups, recoveries, and configuration according to existing corporate standards.  Some off hours work will be required. The candidate must be a self-starter and possess an ability to solve technical problems, along with understanding the broader context in which database administration is provided. Educational Requirements: BS or higher in computer science, information technology or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.1 Experience Requirements: No professional experience is necessary, but an internship or co-op is highly considered.  A preferred candidate must be effective in the following areas: Relational Database Concepts including design and analysis SQL Problem solving and Analytical SkillsFamiliarity in the following areas is desired: Oracle or SQL Server Administration Concepts Software development life cycle and methods Unix environments with shell scripting knowledge Company: Walgreens Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15106 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Career Level: Entry Level Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Company: Walgreens Reference Code: Oracle DBA
