Bachelor degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience and five to seven years of related experience are required.The Commerce Business Systems (CBS) is the department of Commerce’s financial management system. CBS is comprised of a standard Core Financial System and bureau specific functional systems for development support is provided. As the developer, you will be responsible for providing maintenance development support for various application(s) using Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g as the Database platforms. As a member of the team, this individual has gained an expertise in all projects and has become familiar with an all tools and techniques as it pertain to Oracle Development Suite and DBs. You will operate at the most complex system level and must possess expertise and skills that apply across the full system life cycle from requirements through implementation. You must have a solid system design and development skill as well as database-related skills. Skills include reviewing and defining system requirements, defining database design alternatives, and designing logical data models. Should have the ability to set up and test different design scenarios early/late in the system development life cycle as part of the process of validating the suitability of proposed design alternatives and confirming that the design alternatives are functional (unit test). Has the breadth and depth of experience to take a concept and from that build a set of requirements, models, and eventually an enhancement/modification to a system. At this level the Developer is able to do this for enterprise-level systems and truly sees the big picture. Effectively communicating with both team members and government counterparts is key to your success in this position. Requires 4 - 6 years of experience and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and related experience.Specifically, you will likely be responsible for the following:Writing code (packages, functions, procedures, forms and reports) using Oracle 6i/Oracle 10g forms and reportsCreating batch process with precompiled SQL(Pro*C) and UNIX Creating various database triggersWriting NT Services with C#, Using WebUtils for Forms to interact with desktop packages such as Word and Adobe.
