Overview of Role

The inside sales team’s primary goal is to provide an ongoing funnel of qualified leads to the BDM community.  These leads may be generated from tradeshows, partnerships, direct mail campaigns, referrals and through our database.  Teamwork between the Business Development team and Insides Sales team is necessary in order for SMI to achieve its corporate goals.  Responsibilities include lead generation and marketing through cold calling within industries defined by our Sales/Business Development team.  The Inside Sales Rep will work closely with the Regional Teams and VP of Business Development to target accounts within a specified territory and industry.   The targeted contacts will be Sr. Executives such as a CEO, CFO, CIO, etc.. The Representative may be required to attend local industry or business events that will allow for networking opportunities. Once a qualified opportunity is identified, SMI will assemble a sales team to manage the full sales cycle of the opportunity.




Key Selection Criteria:

The successful candidate will possess these general requirements:

·  Team Player

·  1-3 years of experience cold calling into Director, VP and C-level contacts.

·  Experience selling professional business/IT services or software related to Enterprise Business Applications (Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, ERP, Payroll, CRM, etc).

·  Strong verbal, writing and listening skills

·  Professional, ethical, competitive and committed

·  Ability to create a first impression that exudes confidence, quality, and success

·  Independent, self-motivated and persistent

·  Strong organizational and time management skills

·  Ability to work in a fast paced environment

·  Positive attitude and can easily adapt to change

 

Education: 

This position requires a BS and 1-3 years working in a business development capacity
