The Job: Oracle Software Developer/Analyst




Job Location: Southfield, Michigan




Job Purpose:

Analyze and develop solutions related to software issues as well as customer requests. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of application support, development or related areas, in particular in the context of Oracle-based applications. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed. Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources.

 

Working with geographically dispersed team members.




Job Responsibilities:


Design and develop changes to MIC's Oracle-based customs and trade software.
Map customer requirements to application functionality, identify gaps, create program
specifications and define software tests.
Develop identified gaps using Oracle development tools and integrate solution into customer's IT environment (e.g. scripting, messaging, scheduling).
Analyze customer change requests; formulate, develop and document changes to existing applications.
Document, research and resolve bugs (including source code bugs); extraction of data, analysis and correction of data in Oracle database; performance analysis of programs.Test implemented solutions, new applications, and assist customer with user acceptance testing.
Communicate with customer and build relationships; organize open issues; prepare reports

Prepare users by mapping terminology and procedures to client's operating environment.







Educational Requirements:




4-year undergraduate degree required (IT, engineering, or mathematics with focus on IT applications)




Skills:


Training/experience with Oracle databases and SQL
(Oracle RDBMS, SQL*Plus)

Training/experience with programming languages
(PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, Java).

Experience with devlopment tools like TOAD,
SQL*Developer, Oracle Designer

Experience with operating systems and scripting
(Windows, Unix/Linux)

Experience with integration technologies (MQ, FTP)

Experience with Microsoft Office







Korean, Spanish or German language ability is a plus.




Experience:




Minimum 2 year relevant database and/or Java programming experience.
