Job Description Primary Focus:Technical interface to customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs) for resolution of issues related to the installation, implementation, maintenance, use, repair and workarounds for Oracle products on multiple platforms. In-depth support is primarily provided by electronic means. Assures the highest level of customer satisfaction. Utilize/create automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve/avoid customer issues.Distinguishing Characteristics:The Senior Support Engineer has an understanding of all Oracle products in their competencies and in-depth knowledge of several products and or platforms. The individual is highly experienced in multiple platforms and completes assigned duties with minimal direction from management. Routinely acts independently while researching and developing solutions to customer issues. Sought by others to provide specialty knowledge to assist them in problem solving. Routinely reviews/monitors and develops electronic content to enable customer self-service.Example of Duties:· Continues the development of extensive technical knowledge of Oracle Financial products and their uses· Assists less experienced engineers in isolating problems, workarounds and solutions· Handles all Severity and escalated Service Requests (SRs) within guidelines· Provides consultation to field pre-sales and internal consultants· Participates in field support assignments· Participates on a Problem Avoidance (PAA) team as an Analysis and/or Content member· Utilizes/creates automated technology and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve customer issues. Provides feedback to improve instrumentation and writes scripts (i.e., remote diagnostic agent (RDA))· Develops articles for publication in Support News and at user groups· Creates/modifies/reviews content in Knowledge Management Tools· Achieves knowledge transfer with teammates through: Delivering Formal Team Training sessions/Brown Bags, Formal Mentoring, Creating/reviewing knowledge respository articles and notes.· Teaches technical courses internally and/or to customers· Continues development of business and/or leadership skills · Participates in process planning and makes recommendations for improvements· Coordinates tasks within the group and across functional areas Qualifications: Degree Level & Equivalent Measures:· Technical degree i.e., BS Computer Science/Management Information Systems/ Science/ Engineering/ Math/Physics/Chemistry OR proven relevant years professional/ technical experience (preferably Oracle) would take the place of a degree OR (for Applications) functional (e.g., BA finance) degree with higher level technical degree/appropriate work experience OR (for Applications) proven professional/ technical experience, i.e., demonstrates an understanding of Applications at a functional and technical level, (preferably Oracle) Accredited university; minimum 3.0 overall GPA Experience: Technical · One to Four years experience for Core; greater than 5 years experience for Financial Applications.· Work experience with Oracle and non-Oracle products and technologies including: Database Technologies, Internet Technologies, Rapid Application Development (RAD) Tools, Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Financial systems.
