PHP MySQL Linux Developer - Cars.com Santa Monica

  Cars.com is a leader in the automotive online marketing space and we are growing!We are looking for a Senior Back End Developer to join our talented Santa Monica team to lead our product innovation and new car initiatives.

 

Primary Responsibilities Will Be:

 Building/maintaining web based internal tools, backend systems, databases, data import/export scripts  Managing a team of developers to maintain these backend systems using PHP, Mysql, and linux shell scripts

Core Qualifications:5+ years of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL [or PostgreSQL], PHP) experience.2+ years as a senior developer either directly managing or mentoring at least one other developer.Strong background in Object Oriented Programming. Familiar with Apache and Linux web environments. Solid understanding of shell scripting.Solid understanding of MySQL database administration.Good oral and written communication skills are required. Must fully understand Object Oriented design principles. Experience designing and using databases required. Must know their way around SQL.

Desirable Qualifications:System Administration skills a big plusExperience in Perl, Java, and/or C++ are plusesGood project planner/managmentKnowledge of Oracle is a plus
