PROJECT MANAGER/DATA ANALYST
Quova is seeking a Technical Project Manager for our Research team. This individual will play a key role within the research organization; providing leadership, coordination, oversight, and guidance in the development of better geolocation strategies, data collection, and IPv6 initiatives. The Research Team has established a tradition of routinely delivering projects and products on or ahead of schedule. As the team grows, there is a need to centralize the project management functions in order to continue this tradition of excellence. Projects overseen by this position include the development of new technology, as well as sustaining engineering for Quova’s existing IP Intelligence infrastructure.
ResponsibilitiesServe as a key coordinator to the collaborative design and implementation efforts of the Research TeamMaintain and enhance Quova’s existing software systems, products and global data collection networkGuide technical projects from inception to completionIdentify project scope, and intelligently defend against scope creepPlan and coordinate both short-term small projects as well as longer term effortsTrack project schedules, status and resource requirementsEnsure delivery of projects on time, within budget and satisfy the strategic business and technical requirementsLead documentation of user requirements, and participate in development of use cases, project plans, and status reportsOrganize reviews for requirements, design, QA, and releaseCoordinate cross functional communications, schedules, status and deliverablesResponsible for project development and process improvement activitiesChronicle projects via project management toolsEdit, contribute, and review project documentation
Required Skills/ExperienceBSCS, BSEE or equivalent with 5+ years of related experienceProgram/project management experience – 2+ yearsKnowledge of web application and distributed architecturesExperience generating requirements and specification documentsAbility to visualize the entire project from start to finish, and possess the ability to realize the visionStrong communication skills including listening, persuasion, conflict resolution, facilitation, executive presentations, oral and written communications.Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical members across the organization.Demonstrated track record of successfully planning, managing and delivering projects on schedule and to budget Must have first hand experience with all stages of the product development life-cycle from requirements gathering to releaseStrong organizational skillsUnderstand and master the tradeoffs between scope, time, and costAble to build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain communication with a variety of stakeholdersAbility to understand and communicate technical complexities, as well as the product/business objectivesExperience facilitating reviews, planning meetings, and brainstorming sessionsAbility to make decisions, negotiate solutions, and proactively identify and manage issues
Preferred SkillsFamiliarity with Internet organization and governance (IANA, ICANN, IETF, RIRs – ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, and AfriNIC)Experience with relational database systems and SQL Familiarity with TCP/IP networking protocols and fundamentals, including whois, DHCP, ICMP, and DNSKnowledge in networking and IP routing (IPv4 and IPv6)Familiarity with Open Source Software (OSS) sources, communities and environmentsFamiliarity with Java, JDBC, Spring, Swing in a distributed environmentCertifications: CEH, CISSP, CISM are a plus
