The Peoplesoft Sr. System Administrator will join an existing Web Administration group and support the client’s middleware/ecommerce environment over time.

 

The primary objective of the PeopleSoft Sr. System Administrator will be to assist with the production support and management of the PeopleSoft environment from the web server/middleware perspective. The candidate will work closely in collaboration with the PeopleSoft development and DBA teams as well as hardware and network areas as required.

Duties and Responsibilities are as follows:
• Responsible for research, analyzes, evaluations, and stays current on industry best practice standard for these technologies.
• Installation, maintenance, monitoring and reporting on web/application server tie components in a complex redundant, load balanced environment.
• Responsible for other mission critical web/middle tier applications as part of a larger support team.
• Responsible to develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans for this area of technology.
• Will be responsible to help formulate plans for testing as well as the successful execution of those DR test plans.

 

 REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced experience performing Administrative tasks and managing an enterprise PeopleSoft 9.x system.
• Advanced experience managing critical corporate applications in a multi-tier enterprise environment.
• Experience in all operational aspects and solid awareness of surrounding technologies such as code and database components that affect system performance design.
• Advanced skills necessary to architect, build, tune, upgrade, patch and maintain corporate applications with emphasis on the PIA (PeopleSoft Internet Architecture).
• Ability to leverage tools to troubleshoot these environments with emphasis on SQR’s PeopleCode, application engine, process schedulers, application messaging and app/web servers.
• Ability to develop scripts and automation to achieve repeatable processes.
• Recover failed system using industry standards for business continuity.
• Need to be able to document those environments using industry standard tools and methodologies.
• Work in a dynamic 24X7 production support environment.
• Flexibility to work in an on-call rotation and provide after hours support.
