The Practice Manager, WebSphere Commerce Delivery, position reports to the Practice Director, WebSphere Commerce.
This position is responsible for the line management of WebSphere Commerce delivery resources within the WebSphere Commerce Practice. Organizational peers include Practice Manager, WebSphere Commerce Architecture.
The Practice Manager for WebSphere Commerce Delivery is also responsible for operational oversight of activities related to the delivery of WebSphere Commerce service engagements.

* Effectively manage WebSphere Commerce resource capacity and resource availability to maximize resource utilization and revenue realization.
* Provide leadership of team to ensure a challenging and rewarding employee experience in the areas of skills optimization, training, tools, and career growth.
* Collaboratively work with peers, provide guidance, management oversight and continuous evolvement of development methodology for all technical resources to ensure consistent, high quality development and architectural practices.
* Stay current in technology and industry trends as well as USi products and services.
* Actively consult on WebSphere Commerce implementations within the Practice.
* Actively participate or lead Presales engagements to assist in overall Practice growth. Required Skills
Operational Responsibilities: * Resource management for WebSphere Commerce Delivery staff. This includes project level resource forecasting and assignment.
* Participate in weekly Project Management gate meetings to stay in tune with ongoing project needs, status updates, presales, etc.
* Manage WebSphere Commerce Project Managers and Business Analysts.
* Act as an escalation point when internal conflicts occur within the Practice.
* Assist Practice Director with resource and financial forecasting. Business Development Responsibilities:
* Assist with sizing, scoping, and estimates for WebSphere Commerce implementations.
* Provide pre-sales support for WebSphere Commerce opportunities.
* Perform product fit-gap analysis based on customer requirements.
* Participate in and/or lead new WebSphere Commerce assessment client workshops. Staff Responsibilities:
* Career counseling for staff. This includes working with HR to define a range of software engineering roles within the Practice providing a path for career advancement.
* Training planning and scheduling for WebSphere Commerce Delivery staff.
* Lead hiring, firing and retainment activities for the direct staff.
* Complete regular employee evaluations for the staff.
* Day-to-day line management responsibilities including one-on-ones, personal escalation point, etc.
* Time and expense approvals.
* New hire orientation. Tool Responsibilities:
* Manage WebSphere Commerce Delivery team tool needs. This includes ensuring USi is compliant on all software installed on staff workstations.
* Collaborate with Architecture Services to ensure developers are following the established delivery model and development process and methodology.
* Assist in continuing to develop and evolve USi's WebSphere Commerce development methodology with peers and Architecture Services. Required Experience
* Four year technical or management degree
* 7+ years of related professional services experience, in roles of increasing responsibility
* Experience leading teams of 5+ resources
* Experience leading and managing remote resources
* Direct, client facing consulting experience on professional services engagements of greater than $250,000
* Excellent leadership, coaching, management and communication skills
* Negotiation skills
