Pre-/Post-Sales Engineer

Summary:  Provide pre-/post-sales support for Sales in qualification and development of opportunities and delivery of consulting services to include installation, implementation and training of image database solutions.


The representative works closely with the Sales Team to bring the database sale to a successful completion. Responsibilities include presales activities in the areas of object-oriented database imaging applications and technologies that support web based systems. Representative will have knowledge of object-oriented database architecture, including programming skills. Representative will have a strong business understanding in order to demonstrate/explain how the database application can fulfill the business requirements of customers.


Essential Responsibilities:Act as a technical resource on sales calls on issues such as product specifications, features, functionality and integration along with onsite demonstration and installation support. Deliver pre-sales demonstrations and presentations to customer/prospects. Customize the standard demonstration to a prospect’s requirements. Assist potential customers with software evaluations and proof of concepts. Lead RFIs/ RFPs technical responses and serve as liaison between sales, support and engineering teams to provide technology solutions. Provide customer installation, training and implementation of database solution for client-server environment. Interface with Marketing and Engineering as a client advocate for features and functionality to provide input to future development of product. Travel to support sales, customer activities and marketing events.


Qualifications: 3+ years experience is software pre-sales and post-sales or technical consulting experience. Programming experience in VisualBasic, VB.NET, XML, C++ or C#. Knowledge of popular web front-end and back-end technologies (ASP, .NET, Web Services, Flash, etc.). Strong database background including schema design and implementation. Must have strong presentation skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
