Pre-Sales Engineering Manager- Infosec firm
Our client, a leading vendor of Information Security Technology, is seeking a Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering for its suburban Boston headquarters.
Scope of Role
The Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering is responsible for supporting the territorial sales force for all their pre-sales requirements.
Responsibilities
Ensure that all Pre-Sales System Engineers trained at a level that allows them to accomplish their job criteria, including but not limited to in-house company technical and professional training, as well as personal development.Recruit, train, retain, motivate and evaluate a team of Pre-Sales Engineers in remote location throughout the US and Canada. Coordinate with UK & EMEA SE teams to attain corporate objectives.Work with Territorial Sales Managers to ensure their pre-sales objectives are met, by ensuring the technical skill level is available for sales presentations and product demonstrations, as well be responsible for making certain that forecast objectives are met.Attend sales visits to ensure pre-sales team member proficiencyManage Territorial Schedules for optimum utilization of resources.Timely completion of personnel related tasks, including but not limited Expense reports, Quarterly and Annual evaluations.Work with Direct, Channels, Government sales to ensure their pre-sales needs are met (regional)Develop territorial Sales Engineering experts to align with product lines defined by corporate marketingDevelop and execute employee recruiting, retention and quality strategies.Oversee day to day activities of the Sales Engineering team.Delegation, directing others, task prioritization and follow up, motivating others, negotiating, planning, time management, managing vision and purpose.
Requirements
Management Background in a successful, high profile firm.A BS in computer science, engineering, a related discipline or equivalent experience is required.Approximately 5+ years previous Pre-Sales Systems Engineering Management or other Management experience for a IT Vendor (preferably Security, Storage, Software, Networks, Telecom, Wireless) is necessary.Strong presentation skills requiredTravel requirements up to 35%, mainly to trade shows, as well as customer and reseller sites.Ambitious, hard-working, goal oriented, team player and enthusiastic.
