Our rapidly growing price and margin management software firm is looking for an individual with a combination of strong technology skills and a track record of proven effectiveness in pre-sales engagements with potential customers. 

 

Job Description:

The Presales Consultant will present the technology strategy, solution architecture and value proposition in a compelling fashion, and will articulate the value of our solution’s technology and integration to prospects, customers and partners.  The Technical Consultant will team with Account Executives and Business Consultants to communicate the Value Proposition, particularly in the area of technology architecture as a core differentiator and competitive advantage.  The position involves extensive domestic travel.

 

Primary responsibilities:

Team with the Sales Account Execs and Business Consultants in engaging with potential clients to convey the power and value of our technology and integration.  Establish credibility with IT executives and staff.  Lead discussions, evaluate and document customer technology environments and fit with Company solution.  Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on development and communication of technology strategy and product road map.  Prepare responses on technical RFP

 

Key evaluation criteria:

5+ years IT experience, as Director of Applications, Technology Consultant, Sales Engineer, Technical Engineer, Program Manager, or similar roles reporting to the CIO

Extensive, hands-on ERP experience

Knowledge of pricing

Extensive experience with relational, object, web applications, and J2EE platforms

Outstanding communication skills, in particular the ability to present complex concepts in an organized, lucid, and engaging manner to both commercial and technical audiences

Analytical in approach with the ability to map customer requirements into demonstration scenarios

The discipline to work alone and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, high performance team

Excellent presentation and public speaking skills

Ability to influence the thinking of IT organizations
