Principal Consultant

The candidate will be responsible for configuration and installation of the Borland product suite, as well as non-Borland connectors built to leverage data from non-Borland products.

They will also understand application design and development, and be able to engage with members of Product Management and developers in R&D to understand functionality under development, and implications for customer releases.

Candidate must have some experience with implementing ETL processes for large-scale data warehouses, including experience with either Oracle or SQL Server. Some experience with MySQL, DB2, and/or Sybase is also desirable. Must have some proficiency in SQL., and in the data warehouse-oriented features of at least one RDBMS. Must also be proficient in one or more standard scripting languages (e.g., UNIX shell, vbscript, JavaScript, Perl, TCL, etc.). Ideal candidate is also reasonably proficient in a language such as Java, Visual Basic, C#, C++, or C.

Position Requirements
- 5+ years experience with Java development and scaleable commercial applications.
- Familiarity with multi-threaded systems
- Experience with SQL, HTML, Java Script, J2EE
- A solid understanding of Build and Configuration Management best practice principles
- Knowledge of industry trends and new technologies around Build and Configuration Management Apache, Eclipse, and TomCat experience a plus.
- Must be resourceful with good analytical skills
- Must be a team player
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment with changing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail with an aptitude for problem solving and learning new concepts quickly
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with guided but minimal supervision
- Strong customer skills
