Principal Database Engineer, Oracle 10g

The Principal Database Engineer will participate in database SW design and development, and work with the middle-tier application development team.  We have a diverse environment that includes (or will be including) the construction of a cohesive and standardized data management infrastructure, data hub/ODS, transaction systems, and packaged solutions.

 

Minimum Technical Skill Set

Oracle 10g (9i minimum - RAC a plus)

PLSQL

ER-Win, ER/Studio, or similar tools

Full SDLC

Logical/physical database design

Familiarity with multi-tier application system architectures

Linux/Unix

SQL Server 2005 (a plus)

T-SQL (a plus)

 

Qualifications

-  B. S. in Computer Science or CIS preferred

-  Minimum 8-10 years in Oracle PLSQL (and related utilities) development, including packages & procedures

-  Logical/Physical design

-  Experience with large result sets/cardinalities

-  Excellent Communications/writing/documentation skills

 

The primary project for this individual involves loading/summarizing data in our click-stream repository (web site event data), and migrating data into our data hub in support of the Business Intelligence effort.  The individual may participate in design and code review for adherence to standards and best practices, and will attend data management department meetings, etc, as required.
