Principal SQA Engineer

Lionbridge’s Corporate Applications team builds, deploys and supports complex financial, project management and workflow systems which are mission-critical to the operation of Lionbridge’s global localization, development and testing services business. 

 

Description:

 

·  Hands on technical leadership role, with an in-depth broad base of knowledge in the following areas: Automation, Database Analysis, Integration testing, and System level testing.

 

o Act as second in command of the SQA Group. In the absence of the SQA Manager, you would assume all responsibilities for the day to day operations of the SQA group.

o Play an active role in assisting the SQA Manager in building the automation infrastructure both for Performance and Functional test areas. You will also assist in completing and defining the direction which we will follow.

o Design, develop and execute clusters of manual and automated functional test cases which are traceable to specifications and provide both broad and deep coverage to achieve high quality.

o Support the SQA Leads with their projects while adhering to the defined SQA process and procedures.

o Participate in requirements, functional, architecture and design specification reviews.

Requirements:

 

·  8+ years directly related work experience within an SQA environment.

·  The ability to utilize SQL tools or validation of backend database analysis while mentoring the rest of the SQA team by providing canned script queries and assist in the development of new queries to support their projects utilizing SQL Analyzer.  

·  Experience testing in a client/server environment.

·  Proven ability to write effective test scripts from requirements, functional specifications, design review

·  Ability to clearly document issues and manage in bug tracking system

·  Ability to work with both technical and non technical people

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·  Ability to adapt to changing priorities and task assignments with ease

·  Using requirements specifications, functional specifications, and high level design documents, write test plans for user interface, client, and/or server large product features

·  Ability to apply white/clear box techniques for effective and efficient test planning

·  Ability to develop black-box and API-level automated functional and performance tests and report test results using established test tracking method

·  Submit defects and verify fixed defects

·  Provide input into test designs and test execution

·  Participate on cross functional project teams as needed

 

Desired:

 

·  Experience testing complex web-based and /or .NET enterprise applications

·  Ability to develop SQL scripts to maintain/evaluate test data (SQL Server preferred)

·  Knowledge of workflow engine technologies (MetaStorm preferred) and/or BizTalk

·  Experience w/ ERP integration testing a plus

·  Working within Windows Environment (XP, WIN2000, WIN2003)

·  Functional test automation experience a Plus (QTP or SilkTest)

·  Proven ability to be successful in Leading multi-tasking environment

·  Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (AD, SQL, BizTalk, etc.)

 

Education:

 

·  Bachelors or post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related job experience.

·  Microsoft Certification would be a PLUS!
