Principal Test Specialist

Position Summary:

The Principal Test Specialist shall plan, manage, and provide technical oversight for testing and assessment activities.

Essential Work Elements:

• Ensure tested components are compliant with standards and requirements.
• Recommend improvements to processes, systems, products, and/or testing procedures.
• Direct completion of tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints.
• Monitor results and develop methodologies, standards and/or tools to improve the testing process while ensuring that customer requirements are met throughout.
• Coordinate with the PM to ensure problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as liaison to facilitate communication among teams and to work through risk assessment and project/task prioritization.
• Monitor results and develop methodologies, standards and/or tools to improve the testing process while ensuring that customer requirements are met.
• Represent the software testing team in all communication settings.
• Shall be responsive to the leadership of the corporation.
• Exhibits behavior consistent with the vision and values communicated by the corporation.
• Demonstrates support for corporate goals and objectives, contributing to the accomplishment of the overall mission.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Eight (8) years of demonstrated experience in all aspects of software testing and must have demonstrated experience supporting a grants management system.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (IT). Five (5) years of experience in software testing may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree, for a total of 13 years of software testing experience.

Required Skills/Certification:

• Expertise with Mercury Interactive TestDirector, Winrunner, and Loadrunner tools.
• Working knowledge of IBM Rational Unified Process (RUP) suite, including ClearQuest, TestManager, Rational Manual Tester, Rational Functional Tester, Rational Performance Tester, etc.
