Avert Engineering applications are written to assist in the processing of possible malware samples and other threats submitted by customers for review by the Avert Labs researchers. Additionally Avert Engineering creates tools to assist research staff, Web based Systems used by customers, and other tools or systems as required. Avert Engineer is responsible for application development, deployment and support of deployed systems.    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:   At least 6 years of Software Application development experience working with C/C++. At least 1 years of Software Web & Application development experience working with .NET Technologies such as C#. Experience with .NET Remoting or Web Services is preferred. At least 2 years experience implementing systems from industry standard models such as UML. Experience designing systems and authoring specification documents is preferred. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of XML and XSLT. Candidates must have a working knowledge of secure programming techniques and secure system implementation. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstratable knowledge of implementing these techniques on Microsoft platforms. Must have a working knowledge of ADO / ADO.NET and how to implement solutions using these technologies in C/C++. Candidates should have a working knowledge of SQL, specifically queries, query execution and stored procedures. Candidates with experience designing queries and stored procedures in T-SQL or using Microsoft SQL Server will be given preference. An ideal candidate would have experience developing with domain specific languages for expert systems (such as clips) An ideal candidate would have knowledge of security technologies An ideal candidate would have demonstratable experience designing and developing complex multi-tier client / server application systems. An ideal candidate would have a strong knowledge of TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP and SSL.
