 Product Manager- Business Rules

Job Purpose:

Ensures achievement of strategic revenue objectives for a specific product or product family. Plays proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors’. Involved with product throughout all stages of life cycle (conception, definition, development, release, and post-release activities).

Key member of a Product Management team.

This position requires understanding of Application development essentials such as Process definition, User Interface design, Integration, and Business Rules Management.

Key Result Areas:
Translate market needs into clearly defined and detailed Product requirements. Concentration on the Business Rules execution and management technologies offered by the Product Family. Identifying trends in the industry as it relates to BRE and BRMS. Team with Sales, Service, Marketing, Product Development and Product Management to define, develop, market, sell and deliver the Product and the Product Value proposition. Evolve current Business Rule and Process Execution capabilities to become an industry leader in this area. Partner with Product Development to communicate product requirements and determine viable development strategies, deliverables, and release dates. Team with Product Marketing, Product Development, Sales and Service to maintain oversight and shepherd the product (or components thereof) through the Product Lifecycle. Maintain understanding of key market drivers, issues and players in assigned markets. Provide regular and detailed communications of Product and Market status and changes. Provide quality, written content into Product Requirement Documentation. Provide Product specific support to Sales, Marketing, Professional Services and Training teams. Evaluate Competitive market offerings and deliver on differentiation and analysis studies, positioning and communications. Other responsibilities and key result areas will be assigned as required.


Functional Expertise:
Understands Rules based workflow and process automation systems and their ability to be leveraged in the automation of business processes. Familiar with and understands the various technical landscapes of multi-channel business architectures; including integration of Business Rules Engines into Enterprise architecture Discerns when to solve problems independently and when it is necessary to involve others, constantly focusing on making the best possible business direction. Develops new insights into situations and applies creative and innovative solutions to make organizational (product/market positioning) improvements and satisfy desired results. Identifies opportunities to develop and market new products, programs and services within or outside the organization. Prepares, understands and capably executes strategic and tactical plans; formulates effective strategies consistent with the business and the competitive strategy of the company. Makes timely and effective decisions and produces results through effort generated by strategic and tactical planning and the effective implementation of projects, products, programs and scalable processes.
